Eba, also known as garri, is one of the most loved foods for Africans and Nigerians.

Garri is actually made from cassava, which is processed and made into the finished product known as eba.

Now for most people who want to lose weight, i usually tell them to reduce thier intake of Eba, if possible to once a week, and reduce the quantity taken. The reason is this:

Eba is made practically from cassava. A cup of garri contains approximately 360 calories, 99percent of which is carbohydrates

now most times, we don’t just eat just one wrap. its usually a minimum of 2. Then by the time you add the calories from the soup and the meat and chicken etc.

Besides, remember that carbohydrates are not fat burning foods, so its so much easier to store excess carbs in your body.

      Well I disagree wiv U̶̲̥̅̊ , as virtually everybody knows how much calories garri carries, all I did was stop eating eba even though I eat it for lunch wiv vegetables. And I lost 2kg in one week!! So pls stop d falacy of garri having Dietry fibre, it does have but not enough to prevent U̶̲̥̅̊ from bein overweight or obese

    someone mentioned earlier about a swap in measurement standard: from wraps ==> 100g. like to know what followed.
    or instead u cud pictorially define the “wrap”. that definitely will solve some yawa.

    I don’t drop many remarks, however i did a few searching and wound up here BLOGTITLE. And I actually do have 2 questions for you if it’s allright.     Garri is one of the best food when dieting. Even though it’s made from cassava, but most of starch is taken away during processing making it high in fibre and low in carbs. I tend to favour Garri during weight loss for its high fibre content plus it takes so little to fill you up.

    Hello, thanks for the info but MY QUESTION and the reason i disagree with this info is this: if garri is made from cassava and a cup (206g) of cassava contains the following:
    Total Carbohydrate 78 g 26%
    Dietary fiber 3.7 g 14%
    Sugar. 3.5 g
    Protein 2.8 g 5%
    Where did the 99% carbohydrate in your article come from?
    Even if you fry the garri with palm oil as i have personally witnessed, that does not get you 99% carbohydrate as palm oil contains fat and no carbohydrate.
