Over the years, Melissa McCarthy has been able to bag a few awards and nominations. She has won 20 out of the 74 nominations she has received. We could go on and on about her accomplishments but the most talked about one seems to be her sporadic weight loss.

In two years Melissa McCarthy about 75pounds and she is still pushing. She has become an inspiration to so many women who are daily battling with weight problems. Before it is misunderstood, Melissa did not embark on her weight loss journey just to fit in in Hollywood, no, she did it to enjoy a healthy life.

It’s been said that this weight loss journey started as a routine to get into shape for her role as an undercover agent in 2015’s ‘spy’. The routine ended up becoming a major lifestyle change. 75pounds of weight didn’t magically fall off the actress’ body rather it came off through determination and hard work.

WHAT’S THE KEY?

It’s quite simple and attainable. All you need to do is incorporate the following habits:

  • An exercise plan: develop an exercise plan that involves interval training and stick to it. If you think you’d be slack or lazy to exercise on your own, hire a trainer to make sure fat you’ll keep the pounds away. Go for high intensity interval training; it’s more effective.
  • Eat healthy: everyone knows that in order to lose some pounds you have to lose some carbs. Let go of the carbohydrates and the many junk foods you consume. Focus solely on a regimen of eating salads and lean proteins. Melissa McCarthy’s weight loss happened because she changed her diet to a low-carb, high-fat and high-protein diet. Beyond all these, she drinks water with lemon; this is known to detoxify the body. You should go for it as well.
  • Change your hobby: some hobbies are just not healthy for you if you’re struggling with overweight. Those hobbies that give you time to lounge around are simply unacceptable in this weight loss journey. Pick up sporty hobbies that keep you active all the time. There are many of them; swimming, skipping, biking, martial arts, tennis etc. you don’t have to know how to do it at first but with time it will come to you. It’s been said that Melissa prefers doing martial arts and rowing machine.
  • Support group: everyone needs one of these. You’ll find that you’d want to give up several times during the process; it’ll be the duty of those in your support group to encourage you to keep pushing. They’ll fill you with positive energy and remind you everyday why you’re on the weight loss journey. Your support group could range from friends, to family members or even others who are on the same weight loss journey as you are.

If you’re able to incorporate these into your daily routine, you are well on your way to becoming the next Melissa McCarthy.
